Dr. Kuon is an author and Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, where she created and directed the adult inpatient bone marrow transplant massage service. She is dual board-certified in internal medicine and addiction medicine. She is a faculty member at the Osher Center for Integrative Health in San Francisco, where she provides consultations in integrative oncology and integrative medicine, and chaired their educational case conference series for 5 years. She teaches the “Food as Medicine” CODA series for residents and students at the university.
In 2023, Dr. Kuon was nominated as the director of the OPTIMAL-IH Long COVID clinic, in collaboration with the OPTIMAL Long COVID clinic in the Pulmonary department at UCSF. She wrote a book in 2022 on holistic approaches to Long COVID recovery and directs Long COVID group medical visits at UCSF. Dr. Kuon is a co-investigator in an NIH AHRQ grant in 2024 to study Long COVID.
Kuon combines east-west medical approaches in practice, with a focus on precision medicine, nutrigenomics, and microbiome medicine, as part of her holistic clinical practice.
She is a travel junkie and speaks 5 languages. She loves hiking, skiing, and spending time in nature.
