This workshop series offers a practical, end-to-end introduction to computational microbiome data analysis, combining lectures, live demonstrations, and guided hands-on exercises. Participants will learn how to manage and process microbiome sequencing data (16s and metagenomic), apply bioinformatics pipelines, conduct statistical analyses, and interpret results to generate biologically meaningful insights.

Using a curated demo dataset, attendees will complete the full workflow—from raw sequencing files to final visualizations and a summary report. Designed for graduate students, postdocs, trainees, and early-career researchers, this workshop is ideal for those seeking applied, reproducible skills in microbiome data analysis.

Participants who attend at least 4 sessions will receive a signed certificate. This workshop is limited to UCSF.
